Why Visit Yellowstone National Park with SJTC?

Yellowstone was named America’s first National Park by Teddy Roosevelt for a reason. There are few places on Earth where nature feels as alive, unpredictable, and awe-inspiring as Yellowstone. Yellowstone is more than just a destination—it’s an experience that immerses you in the power and beauty of the natural world.

The Landscape is Jaw Dropping

The park is home to OVER HALF of the world’s geysers, including the iconic Old Faithful, which erupts with remarkable regularity. Watching it shoot steaming water high into the sky is a reminder that the Earth is very much alive.

Yellowstone’s landscapes include forests, canyons, rivers, and valleys. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, carved by the Yellowstone River, offers breathtaking views with its colorful rock formations and powerful waterfalls.

This is Not Your Local Zoo

My favorite part about Yellowstone is the wildlife. The park is one of the last nearly intact ecosystems in the northern temperate zone, making it a sanctuary for animals that once roamed freely across much of North America. You might spot bison, elk, wolves or even grizzly bears (OH MY). The Lamar Valley is known for wildlife viewing, often called “America’s Serengeti” for its abundance of animals.

Your Day is Beautifully Curated

A full day of sightseeing in Yellowstone, the nation’s first national park, features outstanding natural spectacles including renowned geysers and thermal basins. Your tour begins with the awesome 1,200-foot-deep Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, including views from Inspiration and Lookout Points. Also see Norris Geyser Basin, filled with an incredible variety of steam vents, mud pots, geysers, and hot springs. Then, head for storied Old Faithful geyser, named for its regular eruptions about every 80 to 90 minutes for some 150 years, before returning to your park lodge.
