Meet Jen
Group Lead
I didn’t realize it at the time, but when I was 11 and my family moved from Texas to Virginia, I was taking my first steps toward a career as a travel advisor. Okay—maybe not a career just yet—but that move sparked my love for discovering new places, tasting new foods, and learning everything I could about the people I met along the way.
I live in Lynchburg, Virginia, though my friends would tell you I’m rarely home. I firmly believe you should never trust a travel advisor who doesn’t travel. Firsthand experience makes all the difference when helping someone plan their dream trip. I’ve explored Iceland, Greenland, Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica, 12 Caribbean islands, and river-cruised through numerous European countries. I’ve also checked off 32 U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
My clients often tell me that I “wow” them. To me, it’s simple—bringing my clients’ travel dreams to life is what I’m meant to do. I founded Sunshine Journeys in 2013 with the slogan “Your Journey – Our Passion” because taking care of my clients truly is my calling. Giving back is just as important to me, which is why I personally donate a portion of my income to local nonprofit organizations.

Meet Jessie
Group Lead
Hey there, I’m Jessie! I grew up a military brat and caught the travel bug early on! That curiosity and passion turned into a career in the travel industry, where I’ve spent nearly a decade behind the scenes, alongside travel advisors, inside itineraries, and deep in the details, helping others experience the world in meaningful ways.
I’ve traveled to 37 US states and 6 continents, from relaxing beach escapes, to trekking 100+ mile trails, and learning about the past in some of the world’s oldest historic sites. I believe the best part of travel isn’t just where you go – it’s the people you meet, the stories you hear, and the meals you’ll never forget.
My travel skills include packing a carry-on like a pro, tracking down incredible local food, and turning strangers into friends along the way.
When I’m home, you’ll find me walking my dogs, spending time with family and friends, or reading. For me, life is about fully experiencing what it means to live – and I can’t wait to help you do the same. See you out there! 🌎
Meet Christy
Group Lead
Growing up, I had the opportunity to take road trips with my family to Colorado, Yellowstone National Park and various places throughout the Midwest. After moving to the East Coast, I have hiked throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains in both Virginia and North Carolina, climbed the light houses of the Outer Banks, visited our Nation’s Capital and various monuments and memorials in Washington, D.C, and toured Savannah during the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Prior to meeting my husband and settling down in Virginia, I was working as a full-time physical therapist. I took a position as a traveling physical therapist for a year, which allowed me to explore the coastline of Georgia, including St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Cumberland Island. During that time, I was fortunate enough to experience Walt Disney World for the first time with my sister and her two children after they were granted a trip through the Make A Wish Foundation. After my husband and I got married, Sunshine Journeys helped us plan our honeymoon to Hawaii in 2018. It was after that trip that I decided to take my love for travel and turn it into a career.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, U.S. destinations, Disney and all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. I have continued to educate myself and explore new destinations to expand my knowledge so I can better assist you on our journeys together.

Hi, I’m Kristen. I’m a storyteller at heart and a logistics brain by nature. That blend is my superpower when leading group adventures: I enjoy experiences that feel effortless, intentional, and deeply personal, even when shared with a crowd. Whether it’s a sunrise over the Seine, a hidden‑gem wine bar in Ghent, or a perfectly timed train connection (my love language), I’m here to make every moment feel beautifully choreographed.
I specialize in leading journeys that go beyond the guidebooks and reflect the group’s unique style, pace, and personality. I also love helping travelers discover journeys that weave culture, scenery, and ease into one seamless experience.
